Family Accipitridae
Bald Eagle Bateleur Eagle Lappet-faced Vulture Ruppell's Griffon
The family Accipitridae consists of 217 different species of hawks, eagles and Old World vultures. All are meat-eaters, but the vultures scavenge animals that are already dead, while the hawks and eagles use their keen eyesight to spot their prey from high in the sky. Some members of this family have bold colors, but most are shades of brown and black mixed with white.
