Family Agamidae
 Bent's Spiny-tailed Lizard
Members of the Agamidae family are moderate to large size lizards and are found in Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, and some Indoaustralian islands. These lizards are primarily active during the day and live on the ground. Most lay eggs, but some give birth to live offspring. The Draco genus in this family is the only lizard genus that has developed an actual gliding flight. Other characteristics of some of the Agamids are elongated scales on various places on the lizard (e.g. neck frills, spines on the tail, etc.) Unlike some other lizards, most Agamids are unable to move their tails independently of their bodies.
