Family Cacatuidae
 Greater Sulfur Crested Cockatoo
The 21 species of the Cockatoo belong to the same order as the parrot. Cockatoos naturally live in the Indo-Malay and Australasian regions with the highest concentration in Australia. Cockatoos include some very large birds that rival the Macaw in size and color. Cockatoos are very social birds and, when isolated, can become very anxious. They are some of the longest-lived birds in the Psittaciformes order. They do have the ability to mimic speech but they aren't very outstanding in this ability. Despite this, they are very intelligent. The most identifiable attribute of the Cockatoo is its crest. These crests are often very colorful and cockatoos have the ability to raise them in display.
