Order Carcharhiniformes
 Hammerhead Sharks (1)
Members of this order are collectively known as ground sharks. They vary widely in size but are generally uniform in shape. The notable exception to this is the hammerhead shark. All members of this family have a nictitating membrane that will cover their eyes when necessary. This order contains many highly successful sharks. Part of this reason is that they are not very specialized. They are able to live in and exploit a wide variety of habitats and food sources.
