 The order Galliformes is made of 263 species of game birds that together cover most of the world, excluding Antarctica, the desert regions of Africa, and the southern half of South America. Pheasants and quails are the most widespread. Some game birds display very colorful feathers, like the peacock, and others are more typical earth tones.
