 Erckel's Francolin
 The 183 species that make up the family Phasianidae span all continents except Antarctica. Their size varies widely from under 2 ounces to 11 pounds. They lay between 2 and 20 eggs and have a varied diet that usually includes seeds, roots, invertebrates , roots, or fruit. They are almost entirely terrestrial, with nests that are usually simple ground scrapes.
